Pulsed Radiofrequency (PRF) Therapy: Targeted Pain Relief Without Nerve Damage
We offer pulsed radiofrequency therapy, an advanced, minimally invasive treatment designed to reduce chronic pain by modulating nerve activity without causing permanent nerve damage.
Unlike continuous radiofrequency, PRF delivers controlled pulses of energy that interrupt abnormal pain signaling pathways while preserving normal nerve function.
PRF is especially effective for conditions such as neuropathic pain, radicular pain (sciatica), whiplash-related pain, joint pain, and certain types of chronic musculoskeletal or spinal pain. By calming overactive nerves, PRF helps restore normal movement, reduce reliance on medication, and improve quality of life.

Laser Therapy: Non-Invasive Pain Relief and Tissue Healing
We offer therapeutic laser therapy, a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle tension while promoting tissue repair. The light energy penetrates deep into muscles, joints, and soft tissues, stimulating cellular metabolism, increasing blood flow, and accelerating healing.
Laser therapy is effective for a variety of conditions including chronic musculoskeletal pain, tendonitis, joint pain, neuropathic pain, and soft tissue injuries. By targeting the source of pain and enhancing the body’s natural healing processes, laser therapy helps patients recover faster, improve function, and return to daily activities or sports with less discomfort.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS): Optimizing Nervous System Balance and Recovery
We offer vagus nerve stimulation, a safe and non-invasive therapy that targets the vagus nerve to regulate the autonomic nervous system, reduce stress, and improve overall resilience. By enhancing parasympathetic activity, VNS can help decrease inflammation, improve heart rate variability, and support faster recovery from both physical and mental stress.
VNS is particularly beneficial for managing chronic pain, stress-related conditions, post-injury recovery, and improving focus and mental clarity. This therapy complements other performance and rehabilitation treatments by optimizing nervous system function, accelerating healing, and enhancing overall well-being

Alpha-Stim Therapy: Clinically Proven Relief for Pain, Anxiety, and Sleep
We offer Alpha-Stim, a non-invasive cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) device that uses microcurrent electrical signals to gently balance brain activity. Alpha-Stim has been shown to reduce chronic pain, decrease anxiety, improve sleep quality, and support emotional resilience.
This therapy is especially effective for neuropathic pain, musculoskeletal pain, stress-related conditions, and sleep disturbances. By modulating neural activity, Alpha-Stim helps patients manage pain and stress more effectively, enhancing recovery, mental clarity, and overall performance.

Understanding the Pain Cycle and How We Break It:
Graphic by Dr. Ming Kao of Stanford Medicine
Chronic pain often persists due to a self-perpetuating “pain cycle.” When an injury or dysfunction occurs, the body responds with muscle tension, inflammation, and altered movement patterns.
These responses can lead to:
-
Muscle splinting or guarding, which limits normal movement
-
Altered joint mechanics, causing increased stress on surrounding tissues
-
Central sensitization, where the nervous system amplifies pain signals
-
Reduced blood flow and healing capacity, prolonging tissue recovery
Left unaddressed, this cycle can cause ongoing discomfort, stiffness, fatigue, and decreased function, even after the initial injury has healed.
How We Help Break the Pain Cycle:
-
Chiropractic Care: Restores proper spinal alignment, improves joint mobility, and reduces abnormal stress on muscles and nerves, which decreases pain and promotes natural healing.
-
Acupuncture: Stimulates the body’s nervous system and endogenous pain-relief mechanisms to reduce inflammation, relax muscles, and calm overactive pain pathways.
-
Physical Therapy & Exercise: Strengthens weak muscles, restores flexibility, and retrains movement patterns to prevent compensations that perpetuate pain.
-
Massage Therapy: Releases tight muscles, improves circulation, and reduces stress, helping the body recover more efficiently.
-
Therapeutic Modalities (e.g., laser, microcurrent, galvanic stimulation): Reduce inflammation, accelerate tissue repair, and modulate nerve signaling to lower pain and speed recovery.
By combining these approaches, we target both the symptoms and the underlying causes of pain, breaking the cycle, restoring function, and helping patients regain an active, pain-free lifestyle.
What makes us unique: You can get all of these services in 1 visit by either Dr. Mazzarella or Dr. Marek. No assistances treating you, no paying per service. Just 1 Active Care Plan implemented through one on one care with a doctor that has specialized training in Pain Management.

Why Physical Medicine and Chiropractic Care Are the Best Approach to Pain
Medications, injections, and other conventional medical treatments (offered by Medical Doctors) are primarily designed to address breakthrough pain for short periods—they are not intended to cure the underlying cause of pain or be used long-term. In fact, without proper early treatment, these drugs can sometimes worsen pain in as little as 30 days due to a phenomenon known as central sensitization or hypersensitivity, where the nervous system becomes overreactive to pain signals.
Graphic Below: American Academy of Pain Management General Meeting. The Curve shows pain reduction with the usage of opioids (slide 1). When the curve goes above the base line, this shows opioid hyperalgesia, meaning, if your pain was a 7/10, using opioids would reduce your pain for a short period of time for example to 3/10, but then increase your pain to 9/10. The last picture shows that after 30 days, you get just as much increase pain as you get reduced pain from opioids, and this is due to central sensitization.

The most effective and sustainable approach to pain management focuses on physical medicine therapies. Chiropractors are uniquely trained as primary doctors of the neuromusculoskeletal system, offering a wide array of treatments that address the root causes of pain, including biomechanical dysfunction, nerve entrapment, muscle imbalances, and joint restrictions. By restoring proper function and promoting natural healing, chiropractic and integrative therapies provide long-term relief, improved mobility, and better overall health—without the risks of prolonged medication use.
Pain doesn't just affect your quality of life, it also SHRINKS YOUR BRAIN! Chronic Pain can result in an ADDDITIONAL 10 YEARS of BRAIN Atrophy!

Why Training Matters in Pain Management: According to the American Academy of Pain Management, most doctors ONLY have 9 hours of training in Pain Medicine.
Not all doctors receive specialized training in pain management. While many may rely on general medical knowledge, true expertise comes from hundreds of hours of focused education, hands-on courses, and advanced certifications in pain assessment and treatment. Don’t you owe it to yourself to receive care from a doctor who has dedicated their career to understanding the root causes of pain and mastering the most effective, evidence-based therapies? Choosing a provider with extensive pain management training ensures your treatment is precise, comprehensive, and designed to help you recover safely and efficiently.
