There was a post I recently read that stated, more or less, our client didn't have any visible injuries, be we trusted them. That statement led to this post, because Whiplash injuries are not invisible, they are actually very, very visible. You just have to know what to look for. I hope this can bring some awareness to this severe disorder.

Whiplash affects 200,000+ Canadians yearly, with research suggesting up to 82% of cases are mismanaged, even a recent pod cast by Dr. Andrew Huberman, he asks, how much of the information, in medical school text books is inaccurate or just false, due to advances in medicine today. The answer he gave, "at least half". Dr. Huberman's video has nothing to do with whiplash, but it does show that even the medical community at large, and its top doctors know the information being used to assess, diagnosis and treat people has to be questioned in medicine.

Permission to repost was requested on October 8, 2025 and approved that same day by Huberman Labs, and the instructed guidelines were followed for posting as requested.

This point is even more true in Whiplash Traumatology cases, as Med-Legal professionals are still citing Whiplash Research from 1987-1993, fueling disputes on injuries, impairments and chronic pain.

In a broken system, if you are relying on medical opinion's that still think Whiplash is a Soft Tissue Injury, you are doing a disservice to your client, your insured and your patient! This ideology is over 30 years old, outdated, and no longer supported by current literature and in office data.

As one of Canada’s leading whiplash experts, it is my opinion that it is imperative that accurate determinations of injuries are the foundation of any case/claim or treatment plan.

  • Lawyers: Accurate injury determinations allow for Court-ready reports that can include crash forensics, specific nerve fiber testing & qEEG scans to show the so called "hidden injuries". MRI's and CT's are NOT designed to do this.

  • Insurers: You need Accurate injury determinations based on known occupant kinematic patterns to ensure symptom description is accident related and reduce unnecessary and non-specific assessments and treatment that could delay the claim, and even make the insured worse.

  • Patients: You need Fast, affordable relief via advanced multidisciplinary therapies in one setting.

Whiplash has advanced several fold since it was first described by H.E. Crowe in the 1920's. We now know why the injury happens, how it happens, why typical treatments do NOT work, why typical Medical Tests do NOT work, and can even determine injury patterns through known and researched kinematic patterns.

If you are involved in motor vehicle accident injury, assessment, treatment or claims/legal, it is my opinion that you have an obligation to understand this material, or you should not be assessing, treating, representing or adjudicating these persons.
